Before Prozac, there was quilting

Asking a quilter to mend clothing is like asking Picasso to paint your garage.

CQBlock Crazy Quilts

This photo shows part of my 2nd crazy quilt block, from a few years ago. It took a while to finish the first block, in Christmas colors and fabric, by then I had collected these pretty blue bits of lace and trim, and had learned some basic silk ribbon embroidery stitches. I am very happy with how it turned out.

To the Victorians the word "crazy" not only meant wild, but also broken, or crazed, into splinters; a good description of the look the triangles and odd shapes gave to these quilts.

The pictures below are from Flickr Romantic Photos Group. They are free, and can be printed onto fabric to use in crazy quilt blocks. Click on any photo to view. You can also press the F5 key to get the photos to change.
